As we have informed you earlier, Google was supposed to release the Android 8.1 Developer Preview within these weeks & they did. If you have an eligible Google Device, you can get Android 8.1 right now. Here is the eligible device list…

DEVICES ELIGIBLE FOR ANDROID 8.1 DEVELOPER PREVIEW
  • Pixel 2
  • Pixel 2 XL
  • Pixel
  • Pixel XL
  • Pixel C
  • Nexus 6P
  • Nexus 5X

If you have a older nexus device then sorry, it’s not available for your device. Anyway, if you have an eligible device, there are two ways to get the Developer Preview. You can either get it via. an OTA update or you can Manually download a System Image & flash it. If you want to get it via an OTA update then you must enroll your device for the Android Beta Program. If you have already enrolled, check System Update right now or if you haven’t enrolled yet, you can enroll by going to the link given below…

 Enroll For Android Beta Program

In case you want to Manually download the System Image, you can find all the links in Google’s Developer Website. But we recommend just enrolling for the Android Beta Program as that’s the easiest way to get the update. Anyway, if you want to do it the harder way & Flash the System Image manually,go to Google’s website & download the appropriate file for your device.

Improvements will be on board with the Android 8.1 Oreo. But, the most important feature update will be with the Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL where the Pixel Visual Core will be completely enabled for faster HDR+ Processing (upto 5 times) & enhanced Machine Learning capabilities. So, if you have Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL, you’ll get better Photography Experience out of your devices. So, let us know if the Release of the Android 8.1 Developer Preview makes you exited.
