To be future-proof and centrally controllable, IP speakers are becoming standard equipment in many calling, intercom, and bulk notification applications. Like analog speakers in the past, they are typically mounted as wall, ceiling, or ceiling tile speakers.

A speaker with an alternative connection is not the same as an IP speaker. In the end, a thousand connections can be made via the Ethernet wire that supplies IP to the speaker. Noise levels higher than 85 dB may be dangerous.  The risk varies according to your proximity to the speaker and the frequency of exposure to this loudness. Loudspeakers are often installed high on a pole and ceiling.

Digital Audio

Digital code is created from audio coming from a microphone that is connected to your computer. After being digitized, the audio is compressed before being sent to any IP speaker that has been assigned via the network.

The bandwidth and transport protocol determine the kind of encoding and compression.
