Fix Google Assistant Keep Popping Up – On Android Phones, Google Assistant is a great Google app that uses voice recognition, voice matching, and artificial intelligence.

But sometimes, Google Assistant keeps popping up on your Android device without prompting it, which can be very frustrating.

How to Fix Google Assistant Keep Popping Up?

1. Turn Off Hey Google Detection

If you want to use Assistant but don’t want it to respond to the “Hey Google” or “OK Google” command, you can disable the voice detection in settings.

1. Open the Google app.
2. Go to More > Settings > Google Assistant.
3. Here, click on Voice Match.
4. Turn off the toggle for Hey Google.

Alternatively, you can retrain your voice model to help Google Assistant pop up only when required instead of false detections. You can do so by tapping Voice Model on the same settings page.

2. Remove Google as Default Voice Assistant

Accidentally pressing the home button can also trigger the Google Assistant, which can be annoying at times. You can remove Google as your default assistant app, which will stop it from popping up

1. On your Phone Open Settings.
2. Go to Apps and notifications > Default apps.
3. Here, click on Assist and voice input.
4. Then, tap on the Default assistant app.
5. Select None, and you’re good to go.

3. Try Denying Access to your Android Phone’s Microphone

Many apps installed on your phone require access to the mic for performing some specific tasks. Google Assistant also uses the mic to get instructions.

If access to the microphone permissions is denied, it will stop popping up inadvertently based on surrounding conversation and sound. This way will not uninstall or disable the program but only limit its freedom. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to the settings on the mobile phone by simply clicking the “settings icon“.
2. Scroll down to the “my apps” option and open it.
3. This will show many applications installed on the device, and find the “Google assistant” application and open it.
4. Now go to the “permission section“, and you will see the permissions for the app.
5. There will be an option of access to the “microphone”, and that has to be disabled to deny the access of the application to the device’s hardware.

4. Turn OFF Google Assistant with the Google Assistant Home Button

1. Open your Google App and click on “three dots in the bottom toolbar”
2. Now click on the “Settings“
3. Select “Google Assistant” and go to the “Assistant” section.

5. Now go to “Assistant devices,” then tap on “Phone.”
6. Tap the toggle button to turn off  “Google Assistant“.

5. Try Cleaning the Cache and Data of the Google Assistance Program

This is also an excellent option to bring the Google Assistant app info back on track. The cache is being stored in the application in the form of data. This will build at while using the application. Moreover, the app’s automatic opening will also store a lot of caches that are sufficiently large enough to bog down the phone and applications. A better option is that to remove it, please take the following steps-

1. Open the “settings” of your Android by tapping on the icon.
2. Go to the “applications” and click it.
3. Scroll down to the “Google assistance” app alphabetically.
4. Open the app’s setting, and at the top bottom right corner, the “clear cache” option will be there, and by tapping it, all the cache will be removed.

You should probably restart your phone after performing this task to get good results.

6. Try to Fully Immobilize Google Assistant

If you do not need or do not use Google Assistant, then follow the steps below:

1. First, navigate to your “home page”.
2. Click on the “three dots” on the right top corner of your screen and select more at the bottom of the pop-up window.
3.  Then scroll down to “settings” and open it.
4. Click on the “Google Assistant” option and go to the “assistant tab“, and there will make a swipe option that will disallow the use of Google Assistant.
5.  Google Assistant will not run on any part of your Google Android phone, and the pop-ups should stop occurring

6. Try Turning Off the Audio Access to the Assistant App

By turning off the automatic access to the audio the Google Assist app will not get the automatic signal and it will restrict the pop-up. Please follow the steps below:

1. Go to “settings” by clicking on the “settings icon“, or it can be done by opening the top window and directly entering into the settings.
2. Tap on “Google”  (Google Assistant program)
3. Now tap “Account Services“.
4. Choose “Search, Assistant & Voice“.
5. Tap on “Audio“.
6. In the “Hey Google” section, select “Voice Match”.
7. By swiping the button to the left Turn off “Hey Google”. By switching it off, Google assistance audio, Google will not be allowed to be activated automatically over the audio.
8. Try saying the voice commands “Hey Google” or “OK Google” to make sure it still works.
