Introduction
Android File Transfer is the data transfer service between an Android device and a Mac computer. The Android apps File Transfer must be installed on your Mac device for transferring data. If the app is not working, you can do the following troubleshooting:
Try USB Debugging
Step 1: Use another USB cable and see if the issue persists.
Step 2: If so, connect your Android phone to the Mac device through USB cable.
Step 3: On the phone, tap on the “settings” by swiping down. Enable the USB debugging and choose the Media device (MTP) option.
Uninstall Samsung Kies or Smart Switch
You may face problems for file transfer if you have a Samsung phone. If there is Samsung Kies or Smart Switch installed on your Mac, then Android file transfer may not work. You need to uninstall these apps to resolve the error.
Reboot Your Mac
You can use the uninstaller that is available on Mac. Reboot your Mac after the uninstallation is completed.

Step 1: You should enable the file transfer on the Android device. Connect the Android device to your Mac and unlock it.
Step 2: A popup window will appear. Click on the USB connectivity section on it.
