Vine makes it easy to create and share your own short videos. You can record a vine using the built-in camera on your smartphone. How to Record and Post a Video using Vine
Recording videos using a mobile phone and then sharing them has always been a costly affair. A new breed of video sharing services is now trying to get many mobile users to submit videos online. Vine and Instagram are two popular social network-driven video-sharing services.
Vine is part of Twitter and allows recording, mixing, and sharing videos through the phone.
- Download the Vine app from Google Play Store; install it, and register using Twitter details or email.
- Open the app and tap on the camera button in the top right corner. Wait for the recording interface to load. Once the interface loads, you can choose the frames and ghosting effect to make a funky video.
- Frame your subject, then press and hold the screen to record the video. The green-colored progress bar will show the amount of footage recorded. You can lift your finger to stop recording and then press the x icon to remove the current recording and start over.
- Add a caption to the video. Choose the relevant channel where you wish to publish your video. Also, you can select the video to be shared on Twitter. When done, tap on the checkmark icon to publish the video.

1. Download the Vine App
Head on over to the Google Play Store or App Store and download the Vine app. Once the app is downloaded, you will need to create an account. Enter your email address, password, and mobile number. 2. Edit Your Profile
You can edit your profile by clicking on the ‘Home’ icon in the top left-hand corner and tap on ‘Profile.’ Here, you can add a photo and access settings. By tapping on ‘Settings,’ you can add a few words about yourself, add your location, and select a color to add to your profile. Under setting, you can also reset your password, choose who can view your Vine posts, and change settings for Vine notifications. By tapping on the ‘+’ icon in the top right-hand corner, you can find friends and connect to Twitter.
3. Explore Trending Posts
By tapping on the ‘Home’ icon and going to ‘Explore,’ you can browse trending news. If you tap on ‘Popular Now,’ you can see what posts are currently popular. By tapping on ‘On the Rise,’ you can see what posts are, well, on the rise. You can choose to browse posts in different categories such as Animals, Art, Comedy, DIY, Family, Food, Music & Drama, News, Places, Science & Tech, Sports, and Style. If you scroll to the bottom, you can browse trending posts of hashtags like #ILoveYou, #taxi, etc. In the search box up top, you can search people or tags.
4. Communicate With Friends Through Vine Messages
‘Vine Messages’ is an easy way to have video conversations with your friends. To create a message, tap on the ‘Camera’ icon and press and hold to record something to share with your friends. When you’re done recording your video, be sure to add a caption and tap ‘Next’ to select who you want to send the Vine video to. Browse through your address book, check the box next to your friend’s name, and hit send. You can check your messages by going to the ‘Home’ icon in the top left-hand corner and tap on ‘Messages.’
5. Record and Share Videos
To record a video on Vine, all you need to do is find what you want to record and hold your finger on the screen. You can press and release as much as you want to make your videos different. When you’re ready to post your first Vine, you can add your location, choose a channel to add it to, and you can post your Vine video to Twitter and Facebook.
6. Interact With Other Vine Users’
With Vine, you can easily interact with other Vine users.’ If you come across a video you like, you can ‘like it,’ leave a comment and review or share their video with a friend. You can follow someone by tapping on their name and tap on ‘Follow.’ To send a message, tap on ‘Message.’
7. See How Many Times People have Looped a Video
With ‘Loop Counts,’ you can see how many times people have looped a video. The number updates in real-time so you can know when others are watching a video simultaneously.
8. Use Vine on the Web
Vine launched its services on the web, which makes it easy to browse and share videos. You can also view your home feed, like videos, and post comments on other Vine users’ profiles. By using Vine on the web, you can check out ‘TV Mode,’ which lets you watch Vine videos in a whole new way. All you need to do is click on the ‘TV Mode’ button in the top right-hand corner of your feed, and you can watch videos in full-screen mode.
