As we already know, Nokia will push Android 8.0 Oreo to the complete range of Nokia Smartphones. This includes the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 & Nokia 8. Now, we know that the Nokia 8 will be the earliest to get the update & it’ll receive the update pretty soon. Juho Sarvikas who is Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, recently twitted about Android Oreo in Nokia 8.

According to him, they’re testing the Android O on Nokia 8 & it is “maturing nicely” with the device. So, looks like they were able to stabilize the build quite a bit already. So, we can expect that the Nokia 8 to get Android Oreo pretty soon & probably within a couple of months. That also was kinda expected as Nokia has gone the Stock Android way instead of putting their own custom UI on top.
But, we still have one concern. Even if Nokia provides Android O in the Nokia 8, what’s the actual use case scenario of it as it’s still not available to purchase in many regions. Because, of so much delay is hype has almost died & most of the people are not even interested to purchase the Nokia 8 anymore. But, those who’ll buy this phone, will get the newest Android version anyway so, that’s a good sign.
After the Nokia 8, the Nokia 6, 5 & 3 will also get the Android Oreo update one by one. But, exactly when the other devices are getting this update ? We still don’t have any idea on that.
