Android P is here for a while now & it has finally left it’s developer preview shell. It is now available in Beta and there are total Twelve devices from different Manufacturers which are eligible to get the update right now.
Today, at Google I/O 2018, Google has announced a ton of new Android P features which are rolling out with the beta update and they also announced the details for the supported devices that can currently get the update. These devices include,
- Google Pixel 2
- Google Pixel 2 XL
- Google Pixel
- Google Pixel XL
- Essential Phone
- Nokia 7 Plus
- Sony Xperia XZ2
- OnePlus 6
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
- OPPO R15 Pro
- Vivo X21
- Vivo X21 UD
The announcement also mentioned that OnePlus as an OEM, is also in the list to get the Beta update but, the Google Developers site doesn’t mention the name of the OnePlus device that is eligible for the update. This makes us believe that the OnePlus 6 will be the eligible device for the Android P Beta (Update: Confirmed via. a Community Post) and it’s probably not listed because it hasn’t been announced yet.
This year it was possible to support so many devices for the Beta because these devices support Project Trable that Google brought into the game alongside Android 8.0 Oreo. However, if you found your current smartphone to be eligible for the Android P Beta update and you want to try it out then, you fan find the details on the official page of the Android Beta Program.
